The numbers are the item IDs. If there is a space (1 4), the second number is the quantity. I'd like to see your input on a balanced kit system.
Re: Taking Kit Suggestions!
Too many numbers. /leave.
Can I just say what I think?
So far I like how the kits work and all, but maybe change the leaves a bit? At times it's not very helpful and what not. Also the delay on kits is a bit slow, but at the same time you don't want to see some guy with 12 stacked Iron Pickaxes in just 1 hour.
Overall, maybe change what's IN the kits a bit. But unless if someone else has an opinion on duration, I think it's fine.

My 2 cents worth...
First off I do not understand the code that Lethal posted one bit so I am just going to give my input the old fashioned way.
I think first we should decide how many kits we want to have. Stone, Iron, Gold, Lapis, Diamond, etc.
Second we need to figure out who gets access to which kit. For example, commoners should not get any kits, Trusted has access to the Stone kit, Elder Trusted has access to the Iron kit, and so forth. It will obviously depend on how many kits we have.
Third - we figure out what we want in the kits. Obviously a set of tools and then some bonus stuff perhaps.
Lastly the refresh rate. For Stone, I'd say something fairly quick, like 30 minutes. As we move higher up the kits, it should be longer.
I know as a Moderator I used the Stone kit quite often to get he stack of stone blocks to build roads with. It was a convenient way to help build the town and help out others. But I don't think the kits should be in any way a system to actually avoid having to work to get the good stuff for yourself (like geeing all your iron and diamonds through the kits), but instead just something that is helpful.
I know that this isn't so much a suggestion of what to put in them, but rather a way to figure out what should be in them....

Well I didn't use the code format but I gave this some thought. I have no idea what the old kits included or what reset times were. I am also not sure how many levels of user there are or what the names might be. That said . . . here's what I came up with.

Plus the owner/admin can't just give it to someone.

"Good enough" is lazy and not how you grow a community. Anyway, I know there are no Elder Builders. :-P Doesn't mean there couldn't be. Lethal asked for kit suggestions. I'm gave mine. Feel free to take some, all or none of it into consideration.
I've never looked at the mod so I don't know what it's capabilities are. I was thinking more of an Owner/Admin gifting the member level to someone who had earned it somehow, not just a kit.

It wouldn't be fair gameplay. Plus it wouldn't encourage donating to the server... Plus no offense but the VIP kits were in my opinion out of bounds and a bit unfair. They way they are now is totally fine. Plus Diamond is before lapis kit. In my opinion again your VIP kits are on the "OP" side. Also Elder Builder is an uneeded rank. The only reason why there even is a builder is because darkveo deserved it. The only reason why theres elder is because theres too many of trusted or commoner and corpsycle was almost enough help to be mod...

Re: Taking Kit Suggestions!
Thanks for the suggestions Snowbear, as so far you are the only one to actually suggest possible kits and the items for each of them. As of right now, NONE of the kits are set up or working to my knowledge (at least they are not for me) so I think that perhaps now is the time to start fresh if that is what is felt is the right thing to do.
I personally like the idea of the Builder rank, as it encourages players to build wonderful and magnificent things on the server.
Now as far as whats in the kits, it should not IMO be OPed. They should be a nice perk, but not so great that they make it so the player does not have to work for anything ever again.
I myself tried out the stone and Iron kits, and even after only a few days of using them, I had an endless supply of Iron and Stone tools (since they stacked) and never had to worry about torches again. Not sure if that is OPed but it did kind of feel powerful.
So here is my suggestion for the levels at least;
Commoner - no kit access
Trusted - Access to Stone Kit
Elder Trusted - Access to Stone kit + a perk of some sort
Builder - Access to Stone Kit, a perk and Builder pack
Iron Donation - Access to Iron Kit + Stone Kit
Gold Donation - Access to Gold Kit + Iron Kit + Stone Kit
Lapis Donation - Access to Lapis Kit + Gold, Iron & Stone kit
Diamond Donation - Access to Diamond Kit and all kits below.
The perks given to an Elder Trusted should be earned, not bought through donations and same goes for the Builder pack for the Builder rank. These can be nice perks like the TPA commands as well as a builder pack that could include some amount of resources (to help build with).
That's all I have for now....

Re: Taking Kit Suggestions!
Nice Dan. I agree. But I think that a kit that gives gold/iron/diamond or anything of the sort to builders/elders is a bit unnecessary. I think that /tpa is enough of a gift :3DMDan wrote:Thanks for the suggestions Snowbear, as so far you are the only one to actually suggest possible kits and the items for each of them. OK so here are my suggestions for the kits themselves;
Stone Kit = 1 Stone Sword (272), 1 Stone Shovel (273), 1 Stone Pickaxe (274), 1 Stone Axe (275), 1 Stone Hoe (291) & 8 Torches (050). Recharge time of 60 minutes
Iron Kit = 1 Iron Sword (267), 1 Iron Shovel (256), 1 Iron Pickaxe (257), 1 Iron Axe (258), 1 Iron Hoe (292), 16 Torches (050) & 8 Iron Ingots (265). Recharge time of 90 minutes
Gold Kit = 1 Gold Sword (283), 1 Gold Shovel (284), 1 Gold Pickaxe (285), 1 Gold Axe (286), 1 Gold Hoe (294), 32 Torches (050) & 1 Gold Ingot (265). Recharge time of 120 minutes
Lapis Kit = 1 Bow (261), 32 Arrows (262), 1 Cake (354), 8 Clay Bricks (336) & 8 Glowstone Dust (348). Recharge time of 240 minutes
Diamond Kit = 1 Diamond (264) & 1 Golden Apple (322). Recharge time of 480 minutes.
----------------------------------------------------
Rank only earned Kits
Elder Perk = Have the ability to TPA (teleport accept).
Builder Pack = 32 Stone (001), 32 Sand (012), 32 Dirt (003), 32 Wood (017) & 32 Coal (263). Recharge time of 60 minutes.
SO that being said, it may seem like I was a little stingy on items and have long recharge time. This is because in my eyes these are all 'nice additions' to what you have to earn. These kits in no way should replace the need to forage for resources or to have to actually mine for Iron, Gold and Diamonds (The game is MINEcraft afterall...)
Players who earn the rank of Trusted get access to the Stone Kit.
Players who earn the rank of Elder Trusted get Stone Kit and the TPA perk.
Players who earn the rank of Builder get the Stone kit and the Builder Pack.
Players who earn both Elder and Builder get the benefits of both and are then known as Elder Builders (or Builder Elders)
Players who donate $1-$25 dollars earn the Iron Kit.
Players who donate $26-$50 dollars earn the Gold Kit & Iron Kit.
Players who donate $51-$75 dollars earn the Lapis Kit, Gold kit & Iron Kit.
Players who donate $76-$100 dollars earn the Diamond Kit, Lapis kit, Gold Kit & Iron Kit.
Players who donate over $100 are granted sainthood.
So there are 2 systems - Earned ranks and bought ranks. These can overlap as well and you could end up with a Gold Builder or a Diamond Elder and they would get the benefits of both.

Re: Taking Kit Suggestions!
Nice dan but IMO thats wayyyyy too much money to ask for any VIP. I think the cost for VIP right now is good as it is. Other than that ur suggestions are good but diamond kit needs more...
The Lapis kit should have 1 Lapis block, along with iron tools as before. Bows and arrows, Nahhh. Plus 8 iron.
Now Diamond should get all of what Lapis AND Iron get. Along with 50 leaves, more bricks, and yea. lol

Re: Taking Kit Suggestions!
Well whatever the money values are is really up to Lethal - It's his money after all.
Ya the lapis block for lapis level makes sense. Of course any level higher than stone gets access to what is below them, but I do not think that it should also be in the kits above. Basically the way I laid it out, in 8 hours a diamond player could get the following;
- 1 Diamond
- 1 Golden Apple
- 2 Cakes
- 2 Lapis Blocks
- 2 Bows
- 128 Arrows
- 16 Clay Bricks
- 16 Glow Stonedust
- 4 Gold swords, axes, shovels, hoes and pickaxes
- 4 Gold Ingots
- 5 Iron swords, axes, shovels, hoes and pickaxes
- 40 Iron Ingots
- 8 Stone swords, axes, shovels hoes and pickaxes
- 272 torches
This is a lot of stuff. And that is if they are not also "builder" rank. In that same 8 hours someone with builder rank could get an additional 256 Stone, 256 Sand, 256 Dirt, 256 Wood & 256 Coal.
IMHO that takes away most of the need to actually work for anything. This IS a survival server. Yes, having players build cool things is awesome. It's even more awesome when you know that they worked to get all the resources used to build it. That in itself is part of the accomplishment - not only can you build a cool whatever, but you found the resources to do so. Building a tower out of glowstone blocks would look cool. It would be that much more impressive knowing that the player had to go into the nether and earn all that glowstone dust.
That's just my opinion. In the end I hope Lethal uses all of our ideas and makes up some awesome kits.

Re: Taking Kit Suggestions!
Well i do not think that any one of the kits themselves is OPed, but if a player was diligent enough to play for 8 hours and time out the refresh rates for all the kits below them then they could end up with the above mentioned amount of items. In reality I highly doubt that would happen. I could see someone with Diamond status perhaps getting the Iron kit a couple of times and maybe the gold kit a couple times over the 8 hour span, but only the most dedicated (and cheap) person would plan an 8 hour session of minecraft around getting the most out of the free kits.

Re: Taking Kit Suggestions!
Not really, I consider it more server money.DMDan wrote:...up to Lethal - It's his money after all.
I have looked at all the suggestions and I think I have an idea of what I'll do with kits. However, any more suggestions are suggested. DMDan and snowbears ideas look good.

The thing is lethal, The way to kits were before were just fine. IMO these new kits are a bit out of that line. Idk maybe its just the change but i personally don't like the way kits are heading. Plus i think it should be mainly up to the VIPS as to what the kits should be... At least for the VIP kits anyways. Which basically means, me and kitook should be the main adjusters of the VIP kits.

Re: Taking Kit Suggestions!
Well I only had a short chance to try out the kits, but what I had posted was not very far off of what it used to be (except perhaps the refresh rate for the kits themselves). If anything what I suggested has less then what there was before, so I did not consider what I suggested as overpowered.
In any event having the kits working again will be great, no matter what is in them.
